Shortcut to Peace
Laevia was to defeat the Demon King. An adept mage, a mostly decent fighter and blessed with minor abilities by the goddess of light herself, hers was the destiny to fend off the foul presence of Kylstadd the devourer from this world. His army was ever a presence, hiding in every shadows and there to corrupt and claim all that was decent and good. She was a heroine of purity, so the tales told, repeated ad nauseum to her so that she would be prepared, so she would take this seriously as a lot was riding on her shoulders. As she had been sent on a journey to claim strength and many artifacts, perhaps even companions to assist her, thus did her quest start... And already was she utterly done with everything. What she wanted out of life was a bit of ease, a pint of beer or a cup of wine every now and then, maybe a beau or a belle to share a bed with...simple pleasures that would be somewhat denied to her on a regular basis given that she was to defeat monsters, save the day, etcetera. Laevia understood the importance of what she was to accomplish, this fact being drilled in her head constantly, though the way they did describe this made it sound like an arduous, long-winded and utterly demanding chore more than en epic adventure. Sleeping under the stars, fending for herself, getting into huge fights, learning new spells...the lot of it would take an immense amount of time and frankly she'd rather reach the end right away. Thus did she head in a different direction than where the elders had suggested, one in which her own particular plan would be put into action. The shrine of light was where she ought be headed, a holy sanctuary in which the sword to banish the wicked was stored, where she'd need to restore it through ordeals, challenges, riddles and trials...but frankly she couldn't be bothered. Not when there was a different answer to all those problems lying in wait further. So instead of going north-east did she go south-east instead, not to the mountainous regions but rather to the desert where the heat would be terrible and the directions even moreso...but the books she had read on topography, geography and local legends would come in handy most certainly. Within those dunes, amidst the sand and rocks could be found a tomb belonging to a queen and within that tomb could be found a relic, a true object of miraculous power... A magic lamp. Within said object a djinn was rumoured to be found, a mighty being capable of rewriting reality in order to grant wishes. Anyone holding it would be privy to three of those to use as they saw fit. Supposedly an ancient empire had been born in ages past, one built by the magical hands of said entity and someone like this on her side would definitely be useful. Kylstadd, as strong as he was, would never be able to contend with someone who could manifest an empire in a but the span of a few seconds. No years-spanning journey, no immense hardships, just one dungeon and a few words...and then she'd get what she want. That, alongside two more wishes to use at her own leisure. A true win for everybody except the Demon King. She went through it, stored up on water and rations, used the money they gave her to get a camel for the road, then she ventured in the dry wasteland that was the Ookyam Desert. An odd name, to be sure, but probably due to their own slang had it been titled thus as Laevia had other things to worry about. Days and nights passed, the search continuing, herself having noted on parchments clues as to the location of the tomb as eventually did she find it, almost by pure chance in the end though the result was still the same. She penetrated the desecrated hallways of the once-luxurious palace and then braved all sorts of obstacles and traps. She fought, ran, did everything she could in order to reach the deepest level and then did she find exactly what she hoped: the magic lamp itself. It was gold, bejeweled to an insane degree with diamonds and various other gemstones, an excessively opulent piece by any standard. Beneath all those precious stones laid a gold basis and core, with the handle and spout near the lid as she got closer, smirking in a near-delirious way. Her efforts had not been in vain and now she would be rewarded as she picked up this precious item, then did exactly as the tales foretold: she rubbed near the spout. The stories had been true, for once had she done that did a thick kind of vapor manifest, emerging from the spout and then growing thicker by the second. It was purple, a slightly light shade of it and went on to swirl into a dazzling show as it shimmered and glimmered in the air. Then did it coalesce into a cloud which went on to get sculpted rapidly by unseen hands, taking on a human shape as what appeared before her was pretty, far too pretty to be true. “Ahhh...sweet, sweet freedom. I suppose I have you to thank, blessed being~” the genie said, a lean and surprisingly curvaceous entity looking like a young man with long hair in a ponytail. Hair of blue, garments of crimson colors lined in gold, he wore but an open bolero vest, a low-hanging sash which showcased his boyish hips and a rather dizzying amount of jewelry. Rings on his fingers, bracers, cuffs, bracelets, earrings upon pointed ears, he was an alien though immediately-obvious kind of beautiful man, effeminate in appearance though definitely a man due to how he appeared. Androgynous yet not too much as Laevia eyed him and she had never seen one such as he...and wasn't disliking it. “As a reward for you granting me reprieve and temporary liberty, I shall allow you to ask of me three boons, wishes if you'd rather I call them that. I, Ookyam, am at your service.” The validation, the rush of her plan about to work in her favour made it so Laevia could not help but smile. A cutie in a lamp, bound in service to her, about to make her escape this sordid destiny of forced heroism as she began to try and figure out a way to get it all done in one wish. She had time to ponder upon such a thing, truly, but had never landed in her reasoning upon a satisfactory answer. Now was the time to vocalize it, to make that wish count, but still wasn't she entirely certain of the wording. She did want to make haste, however, given that the fate of the world and then the more personal stake of her own future were at play here. Thus did she try to think, to really delve into precision and the best intent and outcome...and then did it dawn on her. “I wish for absolute and complete peace!” she said, herself extremely proud as there would be no bloodshed, no violence, no more enmity if everyone got along. No sense in fighting if you have no proverbial beef with your neighbour, be they demon or otherwise. It was a clever answer to that query, as far as she was concerned, though Ookyam seemed to smirk a little, showing a slightly predatory grin for the briefest of instant before then clasping his palms together and then bowing before Laevia. “A most incredible wish. After all, who doesn't want peace? It comes even in so many flavours~” the djinn went on to say as he clapped his hands twice and then the many hidden compartments of treasury, of riches little and large went on to pop in, revealing an amazing amount of gold in all shapes and form. The coins slid and clanged together, a dazzling sight though also a confusing one given what Laevia wished, but soon all of this gave way to a beat that went on to give way for the androgynous djinn to sway his hips to the beat. “Best pay attention, mistress. I shall make sure you get what you asked for~” Even if he hadn't suggested it, Laevia would have stared nonetheless as she was compelled to do so. His luscious and downright smooth form was exceptionally eye-catching, his exposed skin only adding spice to an already heated and arousing body as the pattern of his own motions was easy to identify. Like a pendulum, going left, then right, then left and so forth again as he snapped his fingers and then his jewelry, along with many of the riches nearby, went on to float behind him. They formed circles upon circles, loops that were followed by other loops as soon did they connect together and then...they formed a spiral of the deepest and richest kind. “Peace comes with contentment, with the abandon of grander ambitions for something stable, a life of stability and of frugal goals...and thus when one finds themselves wanting simpler things can they find it far, far more easily~” Ookyam went on to say as he still swayed his hips, his hands running to the side of his body as his golden irises pulled her in, like pools of sumptuous and luxurious abyss, became all the more manifest. They only added to the dance and the still-building spirals, reflecting lights that came from all angles, summoned by the pretty djinn himself. “To achieve such a state requires sometimes a helping hand, one capable of enforcing that stability...one of trust and power, of wisdom and experience...someone like me~” His way was far from subtle, though no-less efficient as Laevia was too smitten and proved too eager to think things through even before waiting for her first wish. Ookyam had been the name of the desert, this landscape titled such as a warning for many, for the one who had built but also ruined the empire had been the djinn himself. Facts turned to stories, then myths, followed by legends and then had been twisted by many recountings and half-forgotten, half-imagined new details until someone would try their hand at claiming the genie...someone like Laevia. As she was brought closer, made to admire the hypnotic display, she found herself mesmerized and finding his own confidence, alongside his beauty, amplifying his charisma. He was so charming, so powerful, the answer to all her prayers as she hyper-focused on him far more than anything else. Her mind, her spirit was filled with him as her own resilience hadn't been quite built yet through experience and ordeals. Her minor blessing, which would have been honed in time, was nowhere near enough to protect her from the enthralling influence of Ookyam as her eyes were already spiraling, her lips curved into a silly grin and drool dripping from her lower lip. “Thus I rejoice in your own idea, that of indeed wishing for peace...thus I shall give you peace of mind and peace from the world and its torment, little mortal~” did Ookyam say to her as his sadistic grin only conveyed his more sinister bent. Once a dutiful djinn, his long existence of servitude and lack of proper gratitude had turned him into something else, deluded by his mission as eventually did he start twisting the wishes of those who unleashed him. At first for entertainment, then for personal gain, the empire that he had built had not been destroyed so much as...reclaimed. What he had built, he took for himself as all the denizens and the royal lineage lived alongside...as devoted, adoring and well-taken-care-of slaves. Laevia would be no exception. “I shall grant you purpose, see to your needs and make every problems go away. Utter bliss and peace for you, from now on until the end of time~” Too entranced and charmed to fight back, to retort, it was under a deep and potent trance that her first and only wish had been granted as the far too open for interpretation boon she asked for had been taken by advantage to the fullest. The spout got wider, opening as it sucked the supposed heroine, turning her into a malleable and gooey shape as she disappeared within the magic lamp. There would she find others like her who once had destinies to fulfill. Merchants, queens, beggars...any and all were equal within the realm contained in this artifact as they were all under the rule of their benevolent god-emperor, Ookyam the djinn. Within would she learn to obey, to worship, to entertain and to stop thinking altogether for a life of mindless bliss under the tutelage of a far, far superior being. No worries, no quests, no hardships...just peace. Exactly what she wished for in a twisted, wicked way.
